Zimbabwe Welcomes Emirati Travel Bloggers to Boost Tourism
Zimbabwe’s tourism industry is setting its sights on a new market segment with the arrival of eight influential Emirati Women Travel Bloggers. The bloggers are currently on a familiarisation trip organised by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) from April 12th to 19th.
This strategic initiative aims to leverage the power of social media influencers to promote Zimbabwe as a tourist destination in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The bloggers will experience the country’s diverse offerings firsthand, visiting popular destinations like Harare, Nyanga, Victoria Falls, and Hwange.
The ZTA recognises the potential of the Middle Eastern market. By hosting these travel bloggers, they hope to spark interest and encourage tourist arrivals from the UAE. “We can’t tell our own story alone,” said Mr. Takuza Munyanyiwa, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry. The bloggers’ experiences and perspectives will shape a powerful narrative for Zimbabwe, attracting more travellers to discover this beautiful country.
The Emirati Women Travel Bloggers are excited to explore Zimbabwe. “This is my first time being in Zimbabwe and Africa,” shared Miss Maitha Alsuwaidi, a prominent Emirati content creator. She expressed how eager they are to create unforgettable memories and share their Zimbabwean adventure with the world. They are confident their experiences will help promote Zimbabwe as a must-visit destination.
This familiarisation trip is expected to play a pivotal role in raising awareness of Zimbabwe’s tourism offerings and fostering cultural understanding between Zimbabwe and the UAE. As the bloggers share their experiences online, they’ll act as cultural ambassadors, potentially influencing travel decisions and boosting tourist arrivals from the Middle East.
