ZIMBABWE SHOWCASES TOURISM POTENTIAL AT LAS VEGAS TRAVEL AGENT FORUM
By Martin Chemhere
Earlier this month of April, Zimbabwe actively participated in the prestigious Las Vegas Travel Agent Forum, held at the renowned Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino in the United States. This significant event stands as one of the most prominent gatherings for travel advisors hailing from both the USA and Canada, offering a crucial platform for destination promotion and networking.
Representing Zimbabwe at this key forum was the Ministry of Tourism, Hospitality Industry Attaché in the USA, Ropafadzo Dunira. During the event, the Attaché effectively highlighted the diverse and compelling array of Zimbabwe’s tourism offerings. These encompass authentic and immersive wildlife experiences, the rich tapestry of the nation’s culture, and its undeniably breathtaking and varied landscapes, ranging from majestic mountains to vast open plains.
Throughout the forum, the Zimbabwe exhibition stand attracted a significant number of travel agents eager to learn more about this captivating African destination. These agents gained valuable and in-depth insights into Zimbabwe’s major tourist attractions, including detailed information about the iconic Victoria Falls, the numerous national parks teeming with wildlife, and the historical and cultural significance of various sites.
Furthermore, the agents were introduced to competitive and attractive packaging options designed to cater to their clients’ diverse interests and travel preferences when considering a visit to Zimbabwe.
Notably, wildlife safaris and the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls generated considerable interest and enthusiasm among the travel advisors. Beyond these flagship attractions, the Attaché also took the opportunity to introduce the advisors to other exciting and lesser-known destinations within Zimbabwe, broadening their understanding of the country’s full tourism potential.
Looking ahead, Zimbabwe is actively preparing to host some of the tourism industry’s leading agents at the upcoming Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo. This highly anticipated event is scheduled to take place from the 10th to the 12th of September 2025 in the scenic city of Mutare, located in the Manicaland Province.
The expo presents another significant and exciting opportunity for Zimbabwe to further promote its extensive tourism offerings on a global stage, as well as to strengthen existing partnerships and forge new collaborations with local tourism suppliers, ultimately boosting the nation’s tourism sector.
