
ZIM TOURISM MINISTER ATTENDS BELARUS INTERNATIONAL TOURISM EXHIBITION
Minister Barbara Rwodzi recently attended the prestigious Belarus International Tourism Exhibition held at the Minsk Arena, a significant step in bolstering Zimbabwe’s tourism sector.
The visit aimed to glean valuable insights from the well-established Belarusian event, with a specific focus on enhancing the Sanganai/Hlanganani tourism expo.
Minister Rwodzi expressed a strong desire to elevate the Zimbabwean event to international standards, incorporating best practices observed during the Minsk exhibition.
She highlighted the existing amicable relationship between the heads of state of Zimbabwe and Belarus, underscoring the importance of continued collaboration for mutual growth in the tourism industry.
During her address, Minister Rwodzi stressed the necessity of close cooperation between the two nations, emphasizing that such partnerships are pivotal for the advancement of tourism in both countries.
The official opening ceremony, presided over by the Minister of Sports and Tourism for Belarus, witnessed participation from a diverse array of nations, including Russia, Uzbekistan, Cuba, Venezuela, Turkey, Oman, and India. This international presence underscored the global significance of the exhibition and the potential for collaborative tourism initiatives.
A key outcome of Minister Rwodzi’s visit was the initiation of a Memorandum of Understanding and cooperation in the field of Tourism between Belarus and Zimbabwe, formalized on the sidelines of the Belarus Expo. This agreement signifies a commitment to fostering stronger ties and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and resources, ultimately contributing to the development and promotion of tourism in both Zimbabwe and Belarus.
