EXPERIENCE GONAREZHOU WILDERNESS WITH CHINGULI CAMP

Nestled on the banks of the Runde River, Chinguli Camps is a collection of five campsites that
offer a truly immersive experience in the heart of Gonarezhou National Park. With a communal ablution facility and each site equipped with a braai, guests can enjoy the perfect blend of comfort and adventure in this natural haven.

The camp accommodates a minimum of three adults and can accommodate up to six adults. Each campsite allows for a maximum of two cars. The camp provides shared ablution blocks, a firepit for each camp, drinking water from a borehole or sand-filtered source, and a camp attendant.

The campsite offers a range of amenities, including thatched gazebos with built-in tables and barbecue areas. It also provides well-maintained facilities such as camping grounds, restrooms, safe parking, and developed ablutions with solar geysers for hot showers and flush toilets. However, please note that motorbikes are not permitted on the premises.

Visitors to the area can engage in a wide range of activities, such as game viewing, game drives, 4WD trails, tours and excursions, guided walks, fishing, swimming, bird watching, and photography. Additionally, fishing safaris are also available for those looking to explore the local waters and try their hand at catching some impressive fish.

The game reserve offers a diverse array of wildlife, including majestic elephants, powerful lions, elusive leopards, formidable buffalos, magnificent black rhinos, graceful zebras, towering giraffes, and a variety of antelopes such as sable and roan antelopes. Visitors are in for a truly unforgettable experience as they witness these incredible animals in their natural habitat.

Visitors can embark on a scenic journey along the Runde River, where they will witness the merging of the Runde and Save Rivers. Continuing southwards, they will discover a range of accommodation options located in the heart of the park. The experience concludes with a visit to the picturesque sites along the Mwenezi River.

Campers are expected to maintain a serene environment and refrain from using any devices that produce sound, including radios, speakers, and generators. This policy encourages campers to fully embrace the natural ambiance of the wilderness, allowing them to engage their senses and appreciate the tranquillity of their surroundings.

Gonarezhou, with its breathtaking landscape and abundant wildlife, is a destination that should definitely be included in any Zimbabwe self-drive adventure. Thanks to a collaborative effort between the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority and the Frankfurt Zoological Society,
this conservation partnership has ensured the preservation of this stunning setting for generations to come.

All bookings are done through the Gonarezhou Conservation Trust that also manages the camps in Gonarezhou National Park.
