COLLABORATIONS AND PARTNERSHIPS CRUCIAL IN WILDLIFE CONSERVATION

ZIMBABWE will make significant strides in wildlife conservation through collaborations and partnerships, WildAfrica Southern Africa director Mr Guy Jennings has said.

In a statement to mark the 2025 World Wildlife Day on Monday, Mr Jennings commended the private sector for investing in conservation.

“I am extremely enthusiastic about the growing private sector interest in conservation,” he said. “The commitment demonstrated by partners like FBC Holdings is truly encouraging.

“Their investment in the environment, particularly in the face of challenges such as foreign donor cancellations, is both commendable and inspiring. This dedication offers a promising outlook for the future of Zimbabwe’s wildlife.”

Mr Jennings emphasised the importance of collaborative efforts in conservation, highlighting the need for private sector investment and community engagement.

“We believe that conservation is a collective responsibility, and we are heartened to see the private sector taking a proactive role in supporting conservation efforts,” he said.

“By working together, we can ensure the long-term sustainability of Zimbabwe’s natural resources and promote eco-friendly practices that benefit both people and the planet.”

The private sector, Mr Jennings added, can play a vital role in protecting Zimbabwe’s natural heritage, promoting sustainable development and ensuring a brighter future for generations to come.
