CAAZ Confirms Fastjet Zimbabwe’s Safety and Compliance

The Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe (CAAZ) has conducted a special safety audit on low-cost airline Fastjet Zimbabwe following allegations of serious safety, financial and operational irregularities. The audit reaffirmed that Fastjet is a well-run and properly licensed air operator with a world-class safety and on-time performance record.

CAAZ’s Chairman, Captain Alois Nyandoro, stated that the audit aimed to assess Fastjet’s compliance with International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standards, its ability to safely conduct air operations and the establishment of accident prevention and flight safety programs. The audit also reviewed the qualifications and aviation experience of Fastjet’s senior staff confirming that they meet or exceed regulatory requirements.

Captain Nyandoro assured the public, especially the travelling public that Fastjet Zimbabwe Ltd is safe and fit to operate as an air operator. CAAZ remains committed to ensuring compliance with ICAO standards and providing regulatory oversight for aviation safety and security in Zimbabwe.
