Religious Tourism Cluster boosts domestic tourism: Women of Valor Gospel group explores farm resort in Goromonzi

In a significant boost to domestic tourism, the Women of Valor Gospel group from PHD Ministries embarked on a unique Easter holiday experience at the Farm Resort in Goromonzi. More than 1000 members of the group participated in various tourism activities during their prayer session, showcasing the potential of religious tourism to drive engagement with local attractions.

The Women of Valor Gospel group embraced a diverse range of activities at the Farm Resort including exhilarating helicopter rides, serene canoeing, relaxing boat cruises, adventurous quad biking, precision shooting, indulgent massages and rejuvenating mud baths. This holistic approach to tourism not only provided the group with spiritual nourishment but also allowed them to explore and appreciate the natural beauty and recreational offerings of Goromonzi.

This initiative did not only promote religious tourism but also had a direct impact on the local tourism industry. The Women of Valor Gospel group’s engagement with various tourism activities resulted in increased consumption of food and beverages as well as utilisation of accommodation services at the Farm Resort and surrounding establishments. This did not only support local businesses but also highlighted the potential for collaboration between religious organisations and the tourism sector to drive economic growth and promote cultural exchange.

The Women of Valor Gospel group’s experience at the Farm Resort in Goromonzi serves as a shining example of how religious tourism can contribute to the development of domestic tourism and showcase the diverse offerings of Zimbabwe’s tourism industry. As more religious groups engage in similar initiatives, the potential for collaboration and mutual benefit between the religious and tourism sectors continues to grow, creating new opportunities for exploration, relaxation and spiritual fulfillment.
