ZIMPARKS SHOWCASES NATURAL HERITAGE AT MITT MOSCOW

The Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (Zimparks) has officially taken centre stage at the Moscow International Travel & Tourism (MITT) Exhibition, which opened its doors on March 11, 2026. Running through March 13 at the prestigious Crocus Expo in Moscow, this participation marks a strategic effort by Zimbabwe to tap into the burgeoning Eastern European travel market and position the country as a premier destination for sustainable wildlife tourism and adventure.

MITT stands as one of the most significant events on the global travel and hospitality calendar. This year, the exhibition features a staggering assembly of over 1,000 exhibitors from across the globe, attracting more than 16,400 industry professionals and high-net-worth travellers. For Zimparks, the event provides a massive platform to showcase the diverse beauty of Zimbabwe’s national parks, ranging from the thunderous Victoria Falls to the vast, elephant-rich plains of Hwange and the rugged landscapes of Mana Pools.

Throughout the three-day event, the Zimparks delegation is engaging in intensive industry networking, meeting with international tour operators, travel agents, and media representatives to foster new partnerships. The focus remains on promoting “green tourism”—a model that balances high-end visitor experiences with the critical mission of conservation. By presenting innovative travel solutions and tailored safari packages, Zimparks aims to attract a new wave of Russian tourists who are increasingly seeking authentic, off-the-beaten-path experiences in Africa.

The exhibition also serves as a forum for Zimparks to learn about global trends in domestic and international travel technology. By participating in specialized seminars and networking sessions, the authority is looking to integrate modern booking solutions and sustainable management practices that have been successful in other international markets.

This proactive engagement in Moscow is a key pillar of Zimbabwe’s broader tourism recovery and growth strategy. As the world looks for more meaningful connections with nature, Zimparks is ensuring that Zimbabwe remains at the forefront of the conversation. The delegation’s presence at Crocus Expo sends a clear message: Zimbabwe is open for business, ready to welcome the world, and committed to sharing its world-class wildlife heritage with a global audience. Through these international alliances, the authority continues to secure the funding and visibility necessary to protect its unique ecosystems for future generations.
