ZIMPARKS RECEIVES FOUR OPERATIONAL VEHICLES FROM NATURE’S VALLEY IN BOOST TO CONSERVATION EFFORTS

The Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZimParks) has received a donation of four operational vehicles from Nature’s Valley, a contribution the Authority has described as timely and impactful in strengthening its ongoing conservation work across the country’s protected areas.

In a statement, ZimParks expressed gratitude to Nature’s Valley for the donation, noting that the support extends well beyond simple mobility. The Authority said the vehicles would help empower rangers and field teams operating on the ground, improve access to remote and often difficult-to-reach landscapes, and support efforts to ensure that communities and wildlife continue to coexist and thrive alongside one another.

ZimParks is the government agency responsible for managing Zimbabwe’s national parks, safari areas, botanical reserves and recreational parks, and carries a broader regulatory mandate over wildlife both within and outside the country’s formally protected areas, including communal lands and conservancies. Falling under the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Wildlife, the Authority oversees an extensive network of parks and conservation areas, among them Hwange, Mana Pools and Victoria Falls, requiring reliable transport and logistics capacity to patrol vast and often remote terrain effectively.

Operational vehicles of this kind form a critical part of ranger and anti-poaching operations, enabling field teams to reach patrol areas quickly, respond to reports of poaching or human-wildlife conflict, and carry out routine monitoring across expansive park boundaries. ZimParks has in the past relied on similar donor and partner support to bolster its equipment and infrastructure, with previous contributions from conservation partners having included patrol vehicles, aircraft for aerial surveillance, and boats used in anti-poaching operations along the Zambezi Valley.

In its statement, ZimParks framed the donation as reflective of a shared commitment between the Authority and Nature’s Valley toward safeguarding Zimbabwe’s protected areas and the wildlife within them. The Authority said the partnership was helping to advance its conservation mandate at a practical, operational level, while also serving as a source of encouragement for continued collaboration between government wildlife authorities and private sector partners committed to environmental protection.

ZimParks concluded by thanking Nature’s Valley for standing with the Authority in what it described as an important mission, stating that the partnership was not only advancing day-to-day conservation work but also contributing to the broader task of preserving Zimbabwe’s wildlife heritage for future generations. The donation adds to a pattern of private sector and donor engagement that has, over the years, played a meaningful role in supporting ZimParks’ capacity to protect the country’s national parks and the wildlife populations that depend on them.
