ZIMBABWE TAKES CENTRE STAGE AT HONG KONG TRAVEL EXPO, EYES BROADER ASIAN MARKET

The Zimbabwe Tourism Office in Hong Kong and Macao SARs proudly represented the nation at the prestigious International Travel Expo (ITE) 2025, held in Hong Kong from June 12 to 15. This significant event, marking its 39th edition for leisure travel and 20th for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism, drew an impressive crowd of approximately 500 exhibitors and 7,500 trade visitors and buyers from across the globe.

Zimbabwe’s presence was spearheaded by Elephant & Cheetah Experience, a key Zimbabwean tour operator, showcasing the country’s rich and diverse travel offerings that extend far beyond the globally recognized Victoria Falls. The Zimbabwe stand proved to be a magnet for attendees, generating enthusiastic interest in the nation’s unique attractions, from wildlife encounters in its national parks to cultural immersions and adventurous safaris.

The participation at ITE 2025 was strategically leveraged for crucial networking opportunities. On the sidelines of the main exhibition, the Zimbabwean team engaged in productive discussions with Deep Sight Travel, a prominent tour operator specializing in African travel packages. Deep Sight Travel expressed keen interest in expanding its current itineraries to incorporate more of Zimbabwe’s varied destinations and experiences. This development is a highly promising indicator of broader market penetration for Zimbabwean tourism within the lucrative Asian market.

Zimbabwe’s proactive engagement at events like ITE Hong Kong underscores its commitment to diversifying its tourism source markets and enhancing its global footprint.
