Zambezi River Deck Dining Experience At The Palm River Hotel

The Palm River Hotel’s multi-level riverside deck, set on the banks of the Zambezi River, offers guests a fresh vantage point from which to take in one of Victoria Falls’ most iconic settings. It has been designed to make the most of the surrounding scenery, from the slow-moving expanse of the Zambezi to the birdlife overhead and the occasional splash and grunt of a passing hippo. The deck has been designed using materials that allow it to be relocated in the future, an approach that reflects the hotel’s commitment to the surrounding riverside environment and a deep respect for the natural landscape and unique character of the area.

The beautifully designed structure places the river at the heart of the experience, offering unobstructed views and an atmospheric outdoor setting that evolves from the tranquillity of the afternoon into the atmosphere of the evening. As the sun sets and the evening cools, open coal fires are lit on the deck, filling the air with the aromas of traditional Zimbabwean cooking. On arrival traditional entertainment and a welcome drink is provided. Dinner is served as a three-course meal, with a menu that includes local specialities such as crocodile and kudu steaks alongside fresh salads, side dishes and a selection of wines and other beverages. The Zambezi River Deck is open to all visitors to Vic Falls, whether staying at the Palm River Hotel or elsewhere in the destination. Advance reservations are essential.
