THE BOMA – DINNER & DRUM SHOW CELEBRATES RECORD-BREAKING YEAR IN VICTORIA FALLS

The Boma – Dinner & Drum Show, one of Victoria Falls’ most iconic dining and entertainment experiences, has marked a historic milestone after recording its highest-ever number of dinner guests in 2025, making it the strongest year in the venue’s more than three-decade history.

First launched in 1992, The Boma has long been a cornerstone of Victoria Falls’ cultural and culinary scene, offering visitors an immersive evening of traditional Zimbabwean food, live drumming, dance and storytelling. In 2025, that legacy reached new heights, with 80,404 guests dining at The Boma over the course of the year; an average of 220 covers every night for 365 consecutive days.

While previous high-performing months were recorded in 2023 and 2024, the numbers achieved in 2025 were unprecedented in the restaurant’s history, reflecting the strong demand for Victoria Falls as a destination and the continued relevance and appeal of experiential dining products that connect travellers with local culture.

The record-breaking year was driven by a combination of passionate teamwork and thoughtful product enhancements introduced over the past two years. These included striking new staff uniforms, refreshed entertainment elements that further elevate the drumming and dance performances, and carefully considered menu additions that have resonated strongly with guests. Together, these updates have reinforced The Boma’s reputation as a “must-do” experience for both first-time visitors and repeat travellers to Victoria Falls.

Commenting on the achievement, Africa Albida Tourism Managing Director Nigel Frost said:

“This record-breaking year is a remarkable accomplishment and a testament to the dedication, creativity, and hard work of the entire Boma team, who put in an outstanding effort and consistently delivered an experience that continues to delight guests from around the world. We are also deeply appreciative of the continued support from our travel trade partners, corporate clients, government institutions, and the many private individuals who choose to book with us. Their confidence in The Boma has been instrumental in achieving this milestone. The Boma’s success in 2025 reflects not only resilience but a shared commitment to excellence and innovation that has defined this incredible restaurant since 1992.”

Africa’s Eden also welcomed the milestone as an important signal of the depth and quality of the Victoria Falls tourism offering. Jillian Blackbeard, CEO of Africa’s Eden, congratulated the team and highlighted the role that flagship experiences like The Boma play in positioning the destination for high-value markets.

“The Boma’s success speaks volumes about the strength of Victoria Falls as a destination that delivers authentic, high-quality experiences,” said Blackbeard. “As we prepare for the inaugural Africa’s Eden MICE Show in 2026, experiences like this are exactly what international buyers are looking for. Memorable dinners, cultural showcases and well-run evening venues are integral to incentive travel, corporate events and conferences, and The Boma sets a benchmark for how this can be done brilliantly in our region.”

The Boma – Dinner & Drum Show forms part of the Victoria Falls Safari Collection, operated by the Africa Albida Tourism hospitality group. The collection includes the award-winning Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, Victoria Falls Safari Club, Safari Suites, Lokuthula Lodges, the Victoria Falls Safari Spa, and Queen Nandi Place, a state-of-the-art MICE venue catering to high-end events, all located on the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge estate just four kilometres from the Falls.

As the destination continues to grow in popularity with both leisure and business travellers, The Boma’s record-breaking year stands as a powerful reminder that cultural dining experiences remain central to the Victoria Falls story and to Zimbabwe’s wider tourism success.
