JOY RIDE AND SCENIC TOUR TRAIN PROVES POPULAR

The National Railways of Zimbabwe’s (NRZ) train excursion that was introduced in Mutare during the Sanganai/Hlanganani/Kumbanayi Tourism Expo proved a great success, as hundreds of bookings were made. The excursion was back by popular demand, as another highly anticipated “Joy Ride and Scenic Tour”, was scheduled for September 12, 2025, in Mutare.

This decision comes after overwhelming positive feedback from previous tours, highlighting the public’s enduring love for rail travel and scenic exploration within Zimbabwe.

With a remarkably affordable fare of just $2, the NRZ made this unique experience accessible to a wide audience, allowing

more people to enjoy the picturesque landscapes surrounding Mutare. The excursion promised not just a journey, but an opportunity to witness the beauty

of the region from a different perspective, fostering appreciation for both the country’s natural heritage and its railway history.

The train’s itinerary saw it depart from the Mutare Railway Station at 1500Hrs, heading towards the Grand Reef Airport. This route offered passengers a delightful afternoon outing, combining the nostalgic charm of train travel with breathtaking views.

Interested passengers were encouraged to secure their tickets early due to the tour’s proven popularity. Bookings were made directly at the NRZ Mutare Train Station Offices.
