The Honde Valley Tourism Association (HVTA) has officially established itself as the unified voice and primary platform for all tourism and hospitality stakeholders in the breathtaking Honde Valley region. This landmark development is set to transform the way visitors experience one of Zimbabwe’s most beautiful and fertile destinations.

HVTA’s primary goal is to provide a single, comprehensive point of contact for tour operators, accommodation providers, and tourists, fostering a cohesive and high-quality tourism ecosystem. The association will be instrumental in coordinating efforts to market Honde Valley’s unique blend of natural wonders and cultural richness.

The valley, nestled in the Eastern Highlands, is a paradise of lush landscapes, from sprawling tea and coffee plantations to cascading waterfalls like the majestic Mtarazi Falls, Africa’s second-highest waterfall. HVTA plans to highlight the region’s diverse offerings, including adrenaline-pumping activities such as the Mutarazi Falls Skywalk and Skyline, white-water rafting on the Pungwe River, and paragliding from Manga Mountain.

In addition to adventure tourism, the association will promote Honde Valley’s burgeoning agro-tourism sector. Visitors can now immerse themselves in the rich agricultural heritage of the area, taking guided tours of tea and banana plantations and learning about the intricate farming processes. This initiative not only enhances the tourist experience but also creates a direct economic benefit for local communities and small-scale farmers.

HVTA will also focus on standardizing hospitality services, ensuring that accommodation—from lodges and guesthouses to unique self-catering options—meets a high standard of quality.
