FASTJET ZIMBABWE RENEWS IOSA CERTIFICATION THROUGH TO 2028
fastjet Zimbabwe has successfully renewed its IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence. The certification is valid until April 2028.
The renewal marks the airline’s first IOSA registration under IATA’s updated Risk-Based Audit (RBI) methodology. This enhanced approach assesses airlines based on a combination of global industry standards and operator-specific factors, including operational profile, safety performance, and audit history.
fastjet Zimbabwe first achieved IOSA certification in October 2024, and this latest milestone reflects ongoing investment in safety systems, processes, and team training.
Nunurai Ndawana, spokesperson for fastjet Zimbabwe, noted that the renewal is a significant achievement for the airline.
“Renewing our IOSA certification is a landmark achievement for fastjet Zimbabwe. This milestone reflects our airline’s safety-first culture and our continuous drive to strengthen operational excellence. We are proud of our teams, whose discipline, professionalism, and safety mindset have resulted in this renewal.”
Captain Joe Mparuri, Accountable Manager of fastjet Zimbabwe, added that safety remains central to the airline’s operations.
“Safety remains our utmost priority. The renewal of our IOSA registration under the rigorous Risk-Based Audit methodology demonstrates our safety-first culture and firmly positions fastjet Zimbabwe as a trusted airline that prioritises safety in all aspects of its operations.”
As regional connectivity continues to play a key role in strengthening Southern Africa’s tourism landscape, maintaining internationally recognised safety standards remains essential. Developments such as this support confidence among travel buyers and travellers alike, reinforcing the reliability of air access across the region.
