Exhibitors Gear Up for Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF)
With the upcoming Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) just around the corner, several exhibitors have already begun preparations for their pavilions at the prestigious trade exhibition in Bulawayo. Officials are highlighting the importance of having a modern convention centre to accommodate the expected large number of participants.
Scheduled to kick off next week on Tuesday and run until Saturday, the trade fair will feature three business days from April 23 to 25, followed by two public days on April 26 and 27. This year’s theme, “Innovation: The Catalyst to Industrialisation and Trade,” underscores the pivotal role of innovation in driving economic growth and fostering trade relationships.
The ZITF serves as a crucial platform for trade and investment in Zimbabwe, providing a valuable opportunity for local and international businesses to engage and forge partnerships. The event will be inaugurated by Kenyan President, Dr. William Ruto, adding a significant international dimension to the fair.
During a recent visit to the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre (ZIEC), a flurry of activity was observed at various pavilions as exhibitors worked diligently on their stands in anticipation of the trade expo. Dr. Nicholas Ndebele, CEO of ZITF, expressed satisfaction with the strong response from exhibitors, noting that preparations are well underway.
In an effort to accommodate the growing interest in the event, plans are in place to introduce a large marquee to cater to the increased demand. Dr. Ndebele emphasized the company’s ambition to establish a modern convention center capable of accommodating the growing number of participants attracted to the fair.
An update from ZITF revealed that exhibitor uptake has been impressive, with approximately 517 exhibitors occupying 98% of the designated space, totaling 48,881 square meters out of 49,499 square meters. All exhibition halls and individual pavilions are now fully booked, underscoring the high level of interest in the event.
Furthermore, international participation is robust, with exhibitors from 27 countries confirmed to date. These include countries such as Botswana, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Japan, South Africa, the United States, and others. This diverse representation reflects a significant increase compared to last year’s participation, highlighting the global appeal of the ZITF as a premier trade exhibition.
