BOSMAN’S COMMUNITY CAMP OFFICIALLY OPENS IN GONAREZHOU NATIONAL PARK

Bosman’s Community Camp has officially opened its doors to the public, in a major boost for sustainable tourism and community empowerment. Located in the pristine and untamed southern region of Gonarezhou National Park, this exciting new hospitality venture bridges the gap between community development and world-class wilderness exploration. It offers eco-conscious travelers a unique opportunity to experience the raw, authentic beauty of Zimbabwe’s second-largest national park while directly contributing to local livelihoods.

The camp boasts an enviable geographical position, set high up on the scenic banks of the Mwenezi River. From this elevated vantage point, guests can enjoy panoramic vistas stretching across the water to the neighboring Malipati Safari Area, while looking downstream toward the well-known Swimuwini Rest Camp and the wildlife-rich Rossi Pools. This specific pocket of the park is legendary for its remote feel and exceptional biodiversity. Bordered by the protected territory of Gonarezhou on three sides, the camp is also situated just seven kilometers from the vital birdlife haven of the Manjinji Pan Sanctuary as the crow flies, ensuring spectacular game and wilderness viewing.

Designed with comfort and simplicity in mind, the main accommodation area consists of six fully furnished en-suite tents that provide an immersive yet comfortable bush experience. These units are complemented by a well-equipped central kitchen, a spacious dining area, and a traditional boma area perfect for gathering around a campfire under the stars.

Operating on a self-catering basis, Bosman’s Main Camp offers flexible booking arrangements tailored for group travel. It can be reserved entirely as a single large camp utilizing all six units, or creatively divided into two distinct, separate camps composed of four units. For smaller parties or couples seeking extra privacy, the adjacent Little Bosmans Camp features two standalone units.

This pioneering project is the result of an ambitious conservation partnership. The camp was developed and supported by Sustainable Agriculture Technology, WILD-Africa.org, and the Gonarezhou Conservation Trust. Crucial financial backing was provided by the European Union and USAID, reflecting a shared international commitment to fostering community-led tourism frameworks where local people act as direct beneficiaries and custodians of nature. Travellers eager to book their next adventure can secure their stay easily, as all bookings for Bosmans Camp and wider Gonarezhou are managed directly through the centralized, expert reservations team based right inside the park.
